PrivateExtract
Extract frames from video
Capture one moment or extract images at regular intervals. Preview the video and download JPG, PNG or a ZIP.
How it works
- Choose or drop the local files required by this tool.
- Choose Auto and an interval, or use Manual playback and frame stepping to capture the moment you want.
- Process the files, check the result and download the output.
Choose the output you need
PNG avoids additional lossy image compression. JPG usually produces smaller files. Neither option restores detail that is missing from the video. Download one image or a ZIP of the generated results.
Understand the timestamps
The target time is the moment you request. The actual frame time comes from the decoded video. They may differ, especially with variable frame rates. The preview shows both; it does not claim an exact frame number from an average frame rate.
Frequently asked questions
Can I save a screenshot from a video?
Choose Auto and an interval, or use Manual playback and frame stepping to capture the moment you want. Process the files, check the result and download the output.
Why is the actual frame time different?
A requested time may fall between frames. The extractor returns an available decoded frame and displays its timestamp. The target and actual times are both shown so you can check the result.
Does this work with every MP4 or MOV file?
No. MP4 and MOV are containers; decoding also depends on the video codec and your browser. If a file is unsupported, the tool shows an error. It does not send the file to a conversion server.
Are my files uploaded?
Your selected files are processed in this browser and are not uploaded. The page and processing code still need to load from the site.
